We have several opportunities for students and others interested in volunteering.
Pro Bono Group
The Pro Bono Group, believing that working for children and young individual’s rights is a particularly important social responsibility, conducts research on children’s rights.
Professor Marit Skivenes is the chair of the group. The members include staff from the Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism, students at the Department for Administration and Organization Theory, and volunteers interested in child welfare.
Child Right Unit
The Child Rights Unit at Centre on Law and Social Transformation (UiB/CMI) aims to understand the role of law and administrative, political and judicial institutions as well as ideas, interpretations and practices around children´s rights that are embedded in societies cultural practices.
Professor Marit Skivenes is the chair of the unit. The unit include researchers from different institutions and disciplines working an children’s rights, and volunteers involved in organizing events and dissemination of research findings.
Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism
You can also volunteer for the Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism. As a volunteering at the Centre, the tasks can involve assisting in research dissemination, take part of data collection, help out with administrative tasks, and assist during events.
Volunteering is a good way to get to know the research field we work with and social science methods, as well as gaining experience in organizational work and communication. If you wish to volunteer, please contact prof. Marit Skivenes.
